SMART Board approves placing question on the 2024 November ballot
On September 5th, the SMART Board voted to place a question on the 2024 November Ballot asking voters to support the expansion of regional public transit service, including long term operations funding for the Gondola to ensure operations and maintenance of the Gondola as public transit service after 2027, and to help fund future bus service expansions and existing bus system capital needs.

SMART Releases RFP for Professional Transit Operations and Maintenance Services
SMART has released RFP# 2023-2 requesting proposals from qualified vendors to partner with SMART in the delivery of transit services throughout its service area. The complete RFP, including anticipated project scope and timeline, has been removed as the deadline has passed.
Online Payments Available for Vanpool Riders
SMART is pleased to announce that we are now able to take payments for vanpool riders online. If you are new to the vanpool or wish to become a member of a vanpool, please email kari.distefano@smarttelluride.com prior to using this service.

SMART Begins Serving Mountain Village—Pilot Program
SMART will be implementing a pilot transit service that will operate between Lawson Hill and the Mountain Village Core, including a stop at the Mountain Village Town Hall/Market. This service is intended to provide a transit option for people who:

Transportation Study regarding Older Adults and/or Mobility Challenges
The San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) is leading a study to identify the transportation needs of older adults and those with mobility challenges.
After speaking with community members, local service organizations, and reviewing available data, SMART has created potential solutions to improve specialized transportation access to older adults and those with mobility challenges. If you or someone you know is an older adult or has a disability and needs specialized transportation, SMART wants your input on which improvements would best address existing needs.

SMART is expanding its services throughout the San Miguel region.
Expanded Telluride & Norwood Service
Beginning May 30, Monday-Friday, SMART will be adding additional services:
- A trip from Telluride to Norwood at 9:45 AM.
- A trip from Norwood to Telluride at 11:00 AM.
- A trip from Telluride to Norwood at 11:30 PM.
The new trips will include stops at Two Rivers and the Lawson Hill Park and Ride.
